World of Warcraft - Rogue WOW Addons Guide
You know what they say, you ain’t worth squat as a wow player without your addons and although that quote might be a little far fetched, addons can and will give you a hefty boost towards your ability to play at your best. Even more so, addons are critical for a rogue, as there are way too many things to look for that you could handle without proper modding. I’ve compiled a list of some of the most useful rogue addons and although these might not be the end-all of rogue modding, I think they should give newcomers to this class a welcomed idea of what they need: Omen Threatmeter I simply love omen and as a raiding rogue, getting my threatmeter up is the first thing I worry about after each patch that screws up my addons. Basically what omen does is give you a short box that shows the leading aggro holder (eg: your tank hopefully) and your threat, as well as the difference and the “Pull Aggro” metrics (as in how much more aggro can you get before pulling the mob’s focus on you). Crucial for raids and 5-mans, especially if you’re up with an inexperienced/poor tank. Rogue Stun Watch This is probably the first addon you need to install if you’re going into PVP, as it will be essential to know how to handle your stuns effectively. This addon makes chain-stunning easy as pie. Playing a priest for a while, I know the difference between fighting a rogue with this addon and a rogue that doesn’t use a stun watch addon and trust me, it’s very noticeable. Omni CC As a rogue, your main concern is getting your cooldown cycle just right, if you want to boost your raid DPS or be effective in PVP. Omni CC gives you a helping hand, showing you all your cooldowns in a fashionable, easy to use manner. Could work as a replacement for Stun Watch, but for PVP I’d recommend the latter. Rogue Focus Classic I mostly use Rogue Focus classic for its energy tick option, to get a better perspective of my energy whilst fighting. I know, there are many other addons that acomplish this, but I’ve been using Rogue Focus Classic for ages now and I’m very comfortable with its UI by now. If you have another preferred energy ticker, by all means, go for it. AutoPoison Well, I guess this one is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s such an annoying task to poison your weapons, be it for PVP or PVE, that an addon is your only chance to do it right. AutoPoison allows you to easily add poisons to your weapons and most importantly, remind you to do so :)
